| | In his book Bowling Alone, Harvard professor Robert Putnam made a simple but striking observation: more Americans were bowling than ever before — yet fewer were bowling together. It was a quiet reminder of how easily we can lose connection, even while doing the same things we’ve always done.
Our profession faces a similar crossroads. Funeral, crematory, and cemetery service has always been rooted in human connection — comforting families, preserving tradition, and serving with compassion. Yet in an age of technology, shifting expectations, and constant change, it’s easy to feel like we’re each bowling in our own lane.
That’s exactly why the SCCFA matters more than ever. |
