Lexington, SC (July 7, 2026) — The Southern Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association (SCCFA) is pleased to announce Sandy Johnson of Lincoln Memorial Group as the recipient of the 2026 SCCFA Scholarship to ICCFA University.
The SCCFA Scholarship Program provides an opportunity for an employee of an SCCFA member to attend ICCFA University, the funeral and cemetery profession’s premier educational program. The scholarship covers registration fees, housing, and meals for ICCFA University, which will be held July 17–22 at the Emory University Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Johnson was selected by the SCCFA Scholarship Committee following a competitive application process. Her application stood out for its strong commitment to family service, operational excellence, professional growth, and leadership potential within the cemetery and funeral profession.
“This scholarship reflects SCCFA’s mission to advance excellence and leadership in deathcare through fellowship, education, and advocacy,” said Michael Higgs, President of SCCFA. “Sandy’s application demonstrated the values we want to encourage across our region: service, integrity, compassion, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We are proud to support her continued development through ICCFA University.”
Johnson serves as one of the lead administrators at Lincoln Memorial Group, one of Georgia’s largest family-owned cemetery companies. In her role, she supports many of the administrative and operational functions essential to cemetery management, including contract administration, inventory and pricing support, insurance assignments, funding documentation, interment and entombment coordination, scheduling, internal training, and workflow management.
Lincoln Memorial Group is owned by Timothy Amoui and Shayda Frost and operates a portfolio of historic cemeteries serving families across metro Atlanta. Johnson has been an integral part of the company’s continued transformation, helping the organization adopt stronger systems, improved procedures, and new technology to better serve families, funeral home partners, and internal teams.
“I am truly honored and grateful to receive the SCCFA Scholarship to attend ICCFA University,” said Sandy Johnson. “Working at Lincoln is more than a job to me. It is a calling to serve families with dignity and compassion during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. This opportunity will help me continue growing as a professional, strengthen the work I do and bring new ideas and best practices back to my team.”
ICCFA University offers specialized colleges focused on areas including cremation services, hospitality and customer experience, land management and grounds operations, leadership, management and administration, technology, sales and marketing, funeral home management, and advanced graduate studies.
The SCCFA Scholarship Program is open to applicants sponsored by an Active Member of SCCFA. Applications are reviewed annually by the SCCFA Scholarship Committee, with the recipient selected based on the program guidelines and application materials.
